Next Steps: From Lithium to a New Vision for Health
I’m looking forward to telling you more soon.
Since my last post about The Lithium Salt March and the upcoming address in the European Parliament, things have continued to move quickly. Many of you have asked what comes next, and today I’d like to give you a glimpse of what’s in the works.
After completing the final manuscript of my new book on lithium as an essential nutrient and its transformative role in public health — and following a ten-city lecture tour across Germany — I remained largely silent on this platform. That pause was intentional. While I stepped away from publishing for a time, I remained deeply engaged in the work behind the scenes.
While “Das Lithium-Komplott” (engl.: The Conspiracy Against Lithium) continues to gain momentum in Germany — it already is a bestselling book —, I’ve been working closely with Skyhorse Publishing on the U.S. release: The Conspiracy Against Lithium will hit American shelves on October 7, 2025, and is already available for pre-order.
Nearly 55,000 German citizens have now signed the petition calling for government action — specifically, to officially recognize lithium as an essential trace element and to legalize its use in nutritional supplements by updating EU regulations. For context: under German law, only 30,000 signatures are required to trigger a formal debate in the national parliament. Reaching nearly double that number is a procedural victory. The petition remains open until June 8, but it has already begun to reshape the conversation. As mentioned in my last post, I will present the scientific and societal implications of lithium deficiency before Members of the European Parliament on June 18. My talk is titled:
“Essential Lithium – The Suppressed Element for Mental Clarity, Peace, and Democratic Competence in Europe.”
I will keep you posted in this, it will be translated to English as well.
But this is not the end of the journey, it’s still part of the beginning.
In parallel, I’m actively exploring the political potential of this agenda, both on the national and European level, in close dialogue with one of the most influential parties in each domain — and my program is going live here this week. Keep an eye out for my next post, be sure to share it and don't forget to subscribe:
The Medicine of the Future
A Comprehensive Health System Reform Program Focusing on Prevention and Causal Therapy—A Blueprint to Restore Physical, Mental, and Social Wellbeing.
This program expands beyond lithium. It challenges the structural flaws of modern healthcare—treating symptoms instead of causes, profit over prevention—and offers a cohesive, science-based alternative. I am honored to have the support of the World Council for Health, especially Dr. Tess Lawrie, who has already shared the program with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s team in the U.S.
A heartfelt thank-you as well to Dr. Christof Plothe for his expert assistance in translating and refining the English edition of the program.
This initiative should not remain a European endeavor. It must find its way into the American conversation as well. While low-dose lithium is already legal as a dietary supplement in the U.S., it still lacks the recognition it deserves — as a fundamental, health-shaping element with the potential to transform how we address virtually all major chronic diseases. Plans for a U.S. lecture tour are underway, and I’ll also share more on that very soon.
Stay tuned—for more on the June 18 presentation, the health-program launch, and ways you can help bring “The Medicine of the Future” into the public square.
Warm regards,
Michael Nehls
